U1000 Music Countdown – Winning song to be revealed this Good Friday

Singapore, 13 April 2017 – UFM100.3’s annual Mandarin music chart campaign, U1000 Music Countdown, will reveal its top song of the chart tomorrowFriday 14 April, at Bugis Junction. 

The two-month long campaign kicked off on 13 February where UFM100.3 called on listeners to vote for their favourite songs. Once the top 2000 songs were in, listeners were given two weeks to vote for their chosen hits on the UFM100.3 webpage. The top 1000 songs were revealed on-air on weekdays between 31 March and 14 April, from 9:30am to 6:30pm

Listeners could also participate in the $1,000 cash giveaway by texting in their guess to the winning song by 13 April, 6:30pm. All they had to do was to SMS “UFM”, “Champion Song Guess”, “Name”, “NRIC” to 9717-1003. The $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to three lucky winners who have guessed the winning song correctly. The lucky draw will be conducted on-site at Bugis Junction after the champion song is revealed. 

Running for the 5th year, this year’s final countdown event is expected to be bigger and better! The event will be held at Bugis Junction’s outdoor stage – Bugis Square (next to the fountain) and UFM100.3 jocks will be broadcasting live from the event – DJs Yuling and Chengyao at 1pm, DJs Jingyun, Wenhong & Limei at 4pm and the entire UFM100.3 crew at 6pm where they will countdown the last 15 songs of the chart. The estimated time for the reveal of the winning song will be at 7:30pm.

Listeners can take part in the on-site activities and games with DJs and win over $8,000 worth of vouchers sponsored by Bugis Junction’s tenants. Vitagen drinks will be given out to the public from 4.30pm onwards, complimentary of VITAGEN Less Sugar, our main presenter of the campaign. Listeners will also be encouraged to take part in a Facebook contest by posting selfies with Vitagen drinks and UFM fan-cards on the UFM100.3 Facebook page. Participants stand to win $1000 cash prize. 

About U1000 Music Countdown
U1000 Music Countdown (U1000) is UFM100.3’s annual campaign that gives listeners the power to determine the songs to be played on UFM100.3 through nominating and voting for their favourite songs. The top 1000 songs, as voted by listeners, will then be featured on the music countdown on-air. Last year, the station garnered over 8,000 listeners participating in the various phases of the campaign. A crowd of over 2,500 supporters went down to witness the final chart results on the last day of the countdown via a Live Broadcast session by UFM100.3 DJs at Bugis Junction (Malay Street).

Maddy, Jason and Arnold in the Morning, start the day from 6am to 10pm, followed by Claressa Monteiro jazzing up the afternoon from 10am to 1pm, Charmaine Yee from 1pm to 4pm and John Klass taking fans home helming the 4pm to 8pm show, and Joshua Simon wraps up the day with Josh's Goodnight Kiss from 8pm to 12midnight.

UFM100.3 is a highly-charged Mandarin music station targeting at working professionals aged between 35 – 49 years that is specially catered to their lifestyle. Its creative, lively and engaging delivery style is able to consistently hook listeners on for a far longer period of listening. The music played on UFM100.3 includes popular and familiar hits which the listeners love, while program content is designed to cater specifically for the busy individuals with timely updates and discussion.

The station’s drive-time programmes are anchored by veteran DJs Wenhong, Limei, Xiaozhu and Weilong in the morning followed by DJ Anna from 10am to 1pm. Yuling takes over from 1pm to 4pm and makes way for Jing Yun and Xin Ying from 4pm to 8pm. Cheng Yao rounds up the day from 8pm to 12am.

The station actively engages its listeners through various interactive events such as dinner gatherings and enrichment workshops. To further strengthen loyalty, DJs also reaches out to the public through its outdoor activations, conducting games and giveaway prizes while introducing the station to new potential listeners. UFM100.3 also supports various community, non-profit and charity organizations with its annual U-Shine program that raises public awareness of lesser known causes and charities.
