Singapore, 9 November 2007 – The inaugural Family A-Fair promises a fun and fruitful time for the entire family, young and old.
The
Family A-Fair 2007 is jointly organised by three of Singapore Press Holdings´ (SPH) newspapers – SPH´s Chinese flagship newspaper
Lianhe Zaobao, as well as two evening papers,
Lianhe Wanbao and
Shin Min Daily News. All three newspapers are from SPH´s Chinese Newspaper Division.
This two-day event will be held at Suntec Singapore Exhibition Hall 401
on 10 and 11 November 2007 (Saturday and Sunday), from 10am to 9pm
daily, and some 80,000 visitors are expected.
Themed around the main pillars of the family – father, mother and child
– there will be three concept areas with interactive programs and
contests to engage visitors all day long, namely
Dad´s Chill-out, Mum´s Time-out and Kids´ Hide-out.
Fun activities for the family include the
Father and Child Cyber Challenge, father and child teams dressing up mummies to win the best-dressed mum award in the
Style Her Up contest, a
Family Talent contest, and a
Young Retro Idol contest, where children will compete to see who can best impersonate Mandarin singers from the 60s to the 80s.
Children can expect a fun time at the
Kids’ Hide Out
as there will be hourly activities to entertain them throughout the
day, such as balloon sculpting, origami, colouring contests and even
cookie-baking. At the same time, mummies can indulge in services like
hair styling, manicure and pedicure services and receive make-up
consultation.
Besides the three main concept
areas, there will also be stage highlights and activity corners by
exhibitors. 7 lucky people stand to win attractive prizes worth over
$5,000 in the Family A-Fair Shopper´s Lucky Draw, the First Prize being
a trip to Perth Australia for a family of 4 worth $2,600!
The event will be launched by Mr Robin Hu, Executive Vice President,
Chinese Newspapers Division and Newspaper Services Division, SPH, and
Mr Lawrence Loh, Executive Vice President, Display Advertisements,
Marketing Division, SPH.
Said Mr Robin Hu: “The Family A-Fair is a joint effort by three of
SPH´s Chinese Newspaper Division´s newspapers, not only to provide
wholesome entertainment and fun for our readers to enjoy with their
families during the school holidays, but also to thank them for their
continued support to our newspapers by providing them with some
attractive prizes and offers.”
