Singapore, 29 September 2008 - SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (“SPH Magazines”) has been awarded a fresh three-year contract to publish the bimonthly HomeTeamNS magazine after a 10-year partnership between HomeTeamNS and SPH Magazines.
SPH Magazines was initially appointed by the Civil Defence Association of NSmen (CDANS) to publish Res-Q, a publication for the association’s 120,000 members in August 1999. Res-Q evolved from a magazine essentially covering clubhouse activities to one that featured health and fitness and lifestyle articles.
In April 2005, CDANS and the Singapore Police Association of NSmen (SPANS) merged to form HomeTeamNS. The membership base grew to 155,000. To reflect the integration, the publication was renamed HomeTeamNS. Its content and layout were enhanced to accommodate the varied interests of the members, which included family-oriented articles and lifestyle features on recreational sports, dining venues, best buys and travel.
Over the years, the magazine has continuously improved its content and design to keep up with the changing trends and lifestyles of HomeTeamNS members.
To mark the new term, the magazine underwent another revamp, with new features and an enhanced design template. Today, it boasts a wide variety of articles that feature new facilities available at HomeTeamNS’ six clubhouses, practical tips on health and investment matters, critical reviews of dining outlets, analyses of latest products on the market, ways to keep fit, and profiles of young NSmen who have excelled at the national and international levels. SPH Magazines’ writers and photographers also extensively cover HomeTeamNS’ signature activities like the Family Day, Strongman Challenge and REAL Run.
Says SAC Jackson Lim, Chairman, PR and Publicity Committee, HomeTeamNS, "Communication with our members and supporters is vital for the success and continued growth of the association. Our main channel of communication is the bimonthly magazine, HomeTeamNS, which is delivered to members’ doorsteps. This is a unique HomeTeamNS and SPH Magazines product, a perfect blend of SPH Magazines’ publishing expertise and our commitment to engage our members."
Says Mr Dennis Pua, Managing Director, SPH Magazines, "Our custom publishing team tailors publications for our clients in various industries to meet their communication needs. Over the years, the HomeTeamNS magazine has evolved to capture the hearts of its readers and advertisers. With each revamp, we place emphasis on quality editorial and design, and make a conscientious effort to improve with each issue. We are very pleased to have the chance to continue producing this title and we look forward to perhaps yet another decade of partnership with HomeTeamNS."
Adds Joanna Lee-Miller, Associate Group Editor, Custom Publishing, SPH Magazines, "We are honoured to be the publisher of choice for the last 10 years and we are very pleased indeed to be given the opportunity to continue with this collaboration. HomeTeamNS is uniquely positioned to cater to a community of readers with like-minded interests whom we need to constantly connect and engage with. It’s an ongoing process that our team reviews regularly to ensure we deliver a product that meets HomeTeamNS’ objectives."
An official signing ceremony between HomeTeamNS and SPH Magazines will be held on 2 October 2008, 11am at Media Centre Auditorium.
Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs and President of HomeTeamNS Management Committee, will be the chief guest.
